Tanzania Agricultural Modernization Association (TAMA) is the national registered not for profit organization based in Bukoba, Kagera Region, Tanzania. We are currently looking for a competent candidate to fill the post of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer whose roles and responsibilities are clearly detailed below:

Position: M&E Officer
Location: The position is based in Bukoba with regular travel to Muleba District, Kagera Region. Contractual Duration: One year term with possibilities for extension but to serve on the first three months probation period. Roles and Responsibilities This position is open to Tanzanian citizens only and the candidate is expected to have thefollowing competencies:


- Develop and strengthen organization’s monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures;
- Monitor all program activities and progress towards achieving the program output;
- Recommend further improvement of the logical frame work;
- Develop monitoring and impact indicator for the project success;
- Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results;
- Monitor the sustainability of the project's results;
- Provide feedback to the Program Coordinator on project strategies and activities;
- Suggest strategies to TAMA Management for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of different programs by identifying bottlenecks in completing program/project activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks;
- Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all project activities to the Executive Director/Project Manager;
- Conduct capacity assessment on existing monitoring and evaluation system
- Develop indicators and a monitoring strategy for specific projects;
- Provide inputs, information and statistics for quarterly, annual and other reports to Project Management Team and TAMA;
- Support monitoring and evaluation of the effects and impact of the project;
- Perform other duties as required;
Personal competencies
- Has average understanding of the NGOs sector operations in Tanzania.
- Demonstrate understanding of issues related to women’s rights, land management and Gender Based Violence.
- Demonstrate ability to work with Local Government Authorities (LGAs), Community stakeholders, Religious leaders and prominent people.
- Understating of the Project Management, proposal development and project designs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate to multi-tier internally and externally.
- Strong planning and problem solving skills.
- Experience in managing information to contribute/ achieve project objectives.
- A high level of integrity, honesty and sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work under pressure and produce results.
- Ability to work in a dynamic team.
- Ability to self-manage, achieve results, and meet deadlines Functional Competencies:
- Organizes and accurately completes multiple tasks by establishing priorities while taking into consideration special assignments, frequent interruptions, deadlines, available resources and multiple reporting relationships.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree on any field related to land management, community economic development, sociology, social work or agriculture.
- At least one year work experience in the civil society sector
- Has excellent level and good command of written and oral English language.
- A candidate with M&E experience will be an added advantage.
